This message is a question regards the instincts. As to my present understanding "instincts" are biological programming of the homo-sapiens animal (in order to make the animal to act and think a certain way), so basically the homo-sapiens main objective is to stay alive as long as it can, that is why the sexual instinctive behaviour is such a strong drive in a homo-sapiens because this way the animal makes sure it passes it genes. So, in other words, the main-main objective of the homo-sapiens is the survival of the fittest.
This creates a competitive environment, where the animal wants to be better than the fellow animal. It is also interesting to note that one can find distinctive different races/nations/tribes of humans/homo-sapiens, who are visually different by their design (skin color, hair color, facial phenotype; it is as if the Designer of this reality makes it even more natural for the homo-sapiens to dislike/discriminate and compete with each other, as by the programming of the animals automatic-behaviou/instinct to be fond of familirity and familiar patterns ) This way the homo-sapiens culture and worldview becomes based on a hierarchy system where the animal tries to get to the top of the food chain.
This might knowledge might shed light unto why Iasus allegedly said The last will be the first and the first will be the last.
So in order to really transform into a truly self-conscious being one should first handly not obey the animals automatic drive/autonomous behaviour. Emotions seem to be created in order to have a certain input/information coming into the animal to trigger a certain output/action/response/behaviour. Thus logically speaking emotions are another limitation that hinders the mind; HOWEVER, MY QUESTION IS: If all these things are true than emotions such as shame, guilt, pride and etc. are a limiting factor for the self-growth/mind-growth too?
